Luanda - MPLA president João Lourenço Saturday spoke of the need to ensure a better and more efficient management of the sports infrastructure built in the country, mainly those erected over recent years.
Speaking at a mass event of this political party held in Caxito, northern Bengo province, as part of the pre-election campaign, President Lourenço referred to the fact that the region will soon host the Paralympics Sports Training Centre, whose first stone was laid last Friday.
João Lourenço stressed that the paralympic athletes have special needs, but even so, they have achieved success in the different sports.
He said that the Paralympics Sports Training Centre will have capacity for 250 athletes and will have a grass football field, two tennis courts, an Olympic swimming pool, as well as a gymnasium for different sports.
For this reason, President João Lourenço appealed to the federation, the Paralympic Sport directors, as well as the practitioners, for the need of a good management, being this the moment to think about a good solution in this sector.
"It is necessary to avoid, at all costs, falling in the situation that we live with the bad management of stadiums such as the 11 of November (Luanda), of Tundavala (Huíla), Chiazi (Cabinda), that cost a lot of money to the State coffers, being therefore a very lamentable situation", he referred.
