Luanda – JMPLA, the youth wing of the ruling MPLA party, will be holding the 9th Ordinary Congress starting Thursday, in the Province of Luanda, which will serve to address the organization's next challenges and elect the new national first secretary.
The partisan youth organization’s event, which will run under the motto “JMPLA – for the Homeland in the Service of Youth”, will analyze the change in the organisation’s statutes, adjustments to the Programmatic Plan (2024/2029) and theses centered on patriotism, pride, love and in devotion to the country.
From the 21st to the 23rd of the current month, the youth of the People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), will also align the JMPLA with the political, social and economic transformations taking place in Angola.
More than 1,795 delegates from all JMPLA structures, both national and international, will participate, as well as special guests.
Therefore, the militants Adilson Amado Mamene Hach and Justino Fernando de Castro Capapinha are competing for the top position of the youth organization, thus replacing the outgoing first secretary, Crispiniano dos Santos.
JMPLA was founded on November 23, 1962, in Leopoldville (now Kinshasa), in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), in the context of the first national liberation war.
