Luanda - The outgoing first national secretary of the JMPLA, Crispiniano dos Santos, assured on Wednesday the existence of conditions for the organization's 9th Ordinary Congress, scheduled to take place on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of November, this year.
The politician, who was speaking to the press, on the sidelines of the ruling MPLA Central Committee meeting, indicated that the National Preparatory Commission for the youth organization’s congress is engaged so that the conclave's opening ceremony can take place on November 21st.
"We are properly tuned and aligned in the methodology for preparing and holding the congress, specifically the process of selecting candidates", he maintained.
He made it known that on the 19th of this month they will hold the 3rd extraordinary meeting of the National Committee, to analyze the three candidacies.
Adilson Armando Hach, Justino Capapinha and Luty Hermenegildo Afonso were approved by the Preparatory Committee for the 9th JMPLA Congress.
The JMPLA methodology predicts that only the two candidates with the best requirements should go to the final election.
Crispiniano dos Santos made it known that within the framework of the statutes, the JMPLA National Committee is the body that approves in relation to candidacies for the position of 1st national secretary of the organization.
He explained that the position of first national secretary of JMPLA is sanctioned by the leader of the Party, "but this of his own free will, at the meeting of the Political Bureau, decided to assign powers to the National Committee to consider the candidacies for 1st secretary of the organization".
Positive balance
Crispiniano dos Santos said he leaves the organization with a feeling of accomplishment.
"The balance is positive, we work depending on the context, as you know, we had five years in office and, during this period, several phenomena such as Covid-19 occurred, which required us to redouble our efforts to come together to the Executive to guarantee health to citizens and, also, we work on what the youth desires", he highlighted.
However, Justino Capapinha, aspiring to the JMPLA's top seat, said that, if elected, members can expect a more dynamic, more inclusive JMPLA aligned with the new challenges.
In terms of integration in society, he noted that he intends to make JMPLA more attractive, capable of mobilizing all the strengths of young people and retaining talents within the organization "for the challenges we face in the coming years".
The 9th JMPLA Congress will bring together 1,789 delegates from all the organization's structures in the country and abroad, as well as national guests.
