Japan - A project to build a power transmission line between the Angolan cities of Lubango, Huila Province, and Moçâmedes, Namibe Province, estimated at over USD 150 million, will be funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The information was given Tuesday in Tokyo by the Angolan minister of Energy and Waters, João Baptista Borges, who is part of the delegation of the Angolan President, João Lourenço, who is on an official visit to Japan.
Speaking to the press, the minister considered the mentioned project a priority, taking into account the Angolan government´s programme.
President João Lourenço is on a four-day state visit to Japan, which began on 12 of the current month.
During this visit, which is the result of an invitation from the Japanese authorities, Angola hopes to attract more investments to diversify its economy.
Japan, a country considered to be the world's third biggest economy, has the 10th biggest population in the world, with around 125.4 million inhabitants.
