Luanda - The President of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi, praised this Monday, in Luanda, Angola's leadership in its efforts in the fight against cybercrime on the African continent.
Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi, who was speaking to journalists after an audience with the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, highlighted that Angola is currently leading in matters linked to the fight against cybercrime in Africa.
In this sense, the head of Interpol thanked the national authorities for allowing the organization's twenty-sixth regional meeting to be held in the country, which begins in the Angolan capital next Tuesday (3).
Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi also highlighted that he assured the Vice-President of the Republic of the organization's continued support for the country in the fight against crimes, especially cyber crimes, as well as for other states in the African region.
This, he highlighted, is due to the fact that “transnational crime affects everyone and the best way to combat it is within the framework of great collaboration between all countries”.
Created in 1923, Interpol aims to combat different types of crimes through the association of law enforcement agencies from several countries.
Angola has been a member of the organization since October 6, 1982.
