Chicala-Cholohanga - At least 960 different explosive devices were destroyed Thursday in the municipality of Chicala-Cholohanga, central Huambo province, the National Demining Institute (INAD) has told ANGOP.
They are means collected this year, which include 800 different ammunition,four anti-personnel and three anti-tank mines, in addition to another 153 devices, detonated in the forest perimeter of the Soldiers Instruction Center “Heroes de Kangamba”, the
municipal village of Chicala-Cholohanga,
According to the acting director of INAD in Huambo, Castro Kapanda, the destroyed devices were collected in the 11 municipalities of this Central province.
This was during a joint operation carried out with defence and security bodies.
Castro Kapanda reported that from January to the present date, 13 people became victims of mines in Huambo, of whom six died and seven were seriously injured.
