Lobito - The State’s General Inspection Administration (IGAE) in the centre-west Benguela Province in the year 2002 received 200 denunciations of infringements, the provincial delegate of the institution, Letícia Duro, told ANGOP Monday.
The IGAE delegate added that 151 denunciations were made via "Call Centre" and the rest were reported in person.
Regarding the treatment of the denunciations, Leticia Duro explained that the IGAE received and analysed them to check if they are within the institution's scope. When they are outside the institution’s scope, the denunciation is channelled to the competent institution to deal with the matter.
The IGAE delegate informed that at least six public institutions were inspected.
"If there is evidence of criminal matters, they are forwarded to the Attorney General's Office (PGR) for subsequent steps", Duro said.
Questioned about the recovery of assets, Leticia Duro spoke of seven vehicles and of some amounts returned to the State.
About the poor public performance by employees of some companies and institutions, Leticia Duro said that IGAE has been taking steps in this regard.
"The presence of inspectors in the institutions inhibits the bad practice in serving the public. Wherever they are visible, we are often notified and we go to that body", he clarified.
IGAE is active throughout the national territory and abroad, namely in the public, administrative and business sectors, diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of Angola.
