Menongue - One thousand two hundred and twenty-three cases, of which 868 at the level of provincial delegations and 355 at the central body, were initiated by the General Inspectorate of State Administration (IGAE), between January and November 2024.

The data were presented on Wednesday by the IGAE spokesman, Daniel Domingos João, at the closing of the III Advisory Council of the General Inspection of State Administration (IGAE), which took place between the 26th and 27th of this month, under the motto: 'Educate to prevent and hold accountable'.

Of these processes, 333 complaints, three complaints, 560 investigation processes, 144 verification processes and 164 inquiries stand out, among others.

He recalled that the Strategic Plan 2024-2027 provides for the carrying out of 1,156 inspection activities, 195 for the central body and 961 for the provincial delegations.

He informed that, in 2024, 51 inspection activities were carried out at the level of the central body, including 28 general inspections, 15 follow-up actions, three audits, three extraordinary inspections and two investigations.

At the level of provincial delegations, 549 inspection activities were carried out, of which 100 were ordinary actions, 24 extraordinary, 130 investigations, 222 inspections, 44 follow-ups, 22 verifications and seven audits.

The good performance observed throughout the period under review, according to the official, was the reflection of a thorough previous work aimed at creating legal, human and material conditions, which allowed to support the sustained implementation of the actions scheduled for the current year.

He indicated that the various actions of an inspection and pedagogical nature carried out by the IGAE allowed the exponential increase of inspection and pedagogical actions to the different public bodies, throughout the national territory, with the support of the provincial delegations.

Speaking at the closing of the event, the Inspector General of State Administration, João Pinto Manuel Francisco, recalled that the mission of the inspection aims to alert the administration and managers to do their role well, respect the law and the guidelines of the Holder of the Executive Power, as well as the rigor in the implementation of budgetary rules.

He advised managers to avoid excesses, work in order to ensure the achievement of the common good, solve citizens' problems with the speed, efficiency and responsibility that is required.

'You cannot humiliate the citizen, and when an error is found, it should not be willful negligence, but it should be assumed that the administration is a good person,' he stressed.

He argued that every public servant is subject to the law, so educating to prevent and hold accountable means being aware of what is right and what is wrong, remembering, in this regard, that those who make mistakes insistently must be held accountable. MSM/ALK/FF/PLB/DOJ
