Luanda - A tribute, free and open to the public citizens, marked Saturday in Luanda the beginning of the official programme of funeral ceremony of the former Angolan President José Eduardo dos Santos.
José Eduardo dos Santos’ relatives and members of the inter-ministerial commission showed up for the public viewing of dos Santos body.
Also several citizens and other members of civil society paid tribute to José Eduardo dos Santos, the second President of the Republic of Angola.
José Eduardo dos Santos died in Barcelona, Spain, on July 8, 2022.
The funeral ceremony will take place on Sunday morning (28).
Twenty-one foreign individuals, including heads of State and Government from some African countries and Portugal, are expected to attend the funeral.
In Luanda are José Maria Pereira Neves President of Cabo Verde, Carlos Vila Nova president of São Tome and Principe, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa President of Portugal, Filipe Nyusi of Mozambique.
Other figures include Danis Sassou Nguesso of the Republic of Congo, Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe, Umaro Sissoco Embalo of Guinea-Bissau and Jorge Lopes Bom Jesus Prime Minister of Sao Tome and Principe.
