Sumbe – The Minister of Defense and Veterans of Angola, João Ernesto dos Santos on Sunday in Cuanza-Sul province, defended the implementation of measures to tackle corruption with a view to development and growth of the social status of the country.
"This is the time to work to eradicate illicit acts that hinder development" the minister said, highlighting that the government is working hard to improve the social conditions of the population.
The minister stressed that in addition to diversifying the economy and attracting national and foreign private investment, the government is combating corruption, nepotism and favoritism.
João Ernesto said the Angolan government has invested in development factors and has spared no effort to mitigate social differences and offer Angolans better living conditions.
Angola celebrated on February 4, 63 years of the beginning of the Armed Struggle for National Liberation, under the motto “Preserving the values of the Fatherland, let us honor our heroes".
