Lubango - The Vice-President of Angola, Esperança da Costa, said Saturday that the Central Hospital of Lubango "Dr. António Agostinho Neto" has created the conditions to become a unit with international certification.
Esperança da Costa made the statement at the end of a visit to that health unit, where for 40 minutes she toured the hospital’s sections of oncology, haemodialysis, dermatology, ophthalmology and laboratories among other spots of hospital.
The Vice-President spoke of the need for the hospital to improve its diagnostic and treatment services, so that it can be more interventive and save more lives.
"We leave here comforted and satisfied by the levels of intervention in the hospital, the motivation and commitment of the professionals and the management of the unit, who are attentive to the needs for the identification of possible solutions to solve problems" she elucidated.
The Central hospital has 418 beds.
The work in the unit is ensured by 669 employees, among doctors, nurses, and administrative staff, providing 21 specialties.
The Vice-President of the Republic ended her two-day visit to the southern Huíla Province, where she chaired the IX Meeting of CPLP Environment Ministers, having returned to Luanda on Saturday.
