Mbanza Kongo – At least 11 border violations have been recorded in the last seven days by the Border Guard Police in northern Zaire Province, an increase of four incidents compared to the previous week, the law enforcement authorities said on Monday.
Of this number, five are for border violations, one for illegal export of goods to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and five for fuel smuggling.
Following the operational registration, at least 20 citizens of this neighboring country were repatriated and 10 directed to the local Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) for proper treatment.
At least four municipalities in Zaire province share borders with the DRC, namely Mbanza Kongo, Soyo, Cuimba and Nóqui, covering a length of 310 km.
