Malanje - The provincial governor of Malanje, Marcos Nhunga, on Tuesday in this city expressed the continued institutional support and collaboration of the local government with the National Air Force (FAN)’s Northern Region, for the maintenance of airspace defence and security.
This collaboration extends to other bodies of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), so that in addition to contributing to the strengthening of institutional relations, reinforce defence and territorial security, said the governor in the presentation to the provincial government of the new commander from the Northern Region of the FAN, based in Luanda, Lieutenant General João Borges.
In turn, the commander of the National Air Force, General Virgílio António Pinto, praised the military and academic skills of the new head of the corporation in the province, which inspires confidence in the full exercise of air defense and fulfillment of the military mission.
Before this appointment, by presidential decree in August this year, Lieutenant General João Borges served for nine years as commander of the National Air Force Academy, based in Catumbela, Benguela Province.
The Northern Region of FAN comprises the provinces of Luanda, Malanje, Uíge and Lunda-Norte.
