Luanda – Angola government approved Wednesday the Regulation Law on Free Zones which lays down the procedures and formalities for the constitution, organisation and functioning of these spaces.
This was at 11th Ordinary Session of Cabinet Council, chaired by the President João Lourenço, aimed to ensure the streamlining and operation of the procedure with international standards favorable to investment.
The regulation also aims at promoting and creating a diversified and competitive business fabric of large national and international companies to speedup the growth of the national economy.
Free Zones are mechanisms for economic, social development and investment support.
In the field of distance learning, the Government approved the diploma that establishes the rules that govern the modalities of distance and semi-presential education, in primary and secondary education
The objective is to provide a comprehensive and efficient response to the general objectives of the System Education, regardless of any circumstance.
The government approved new organic statutes for the Angolan Youth Institute, the National Institute of Cultural Heritage and the National Archives of Angola.
In the framework of foreign policy, the government approved the agreements between the governments of Angola and Qatar, including those on visa exemptions in Service and Special passports, as well as in the field of Maritime Transport.
The Council took note of the Protocol on Political Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Angola and the State of Qatar, signed on 8 September 2019, in Doha.
The Council was informed about the Agreement by Exchange of Notes for the Implementation of the Economic and Social Programme between the governments of Angola and Japan, signed in Luanda, on September 11, 2020.
It is fundamentally based on the acquisition of goods and /or services, through the transfer of technology, scientific research, exchange of information and sharing of ideas with public-private partners, in the field of health.
Finally, the Council was informed about the final result of the International Public Tender for the Multipurpose Terminal of Luanda Port.
