Luanda - Minister of State and Head of the Military Affairs Office “Casa Militar” to the President of Republic Francisco Furtado has urged the new members of this body for greater responsibility with regard to their activities.
The president’s aide recommended so at swearing in ceremony of the general officers of the Military Affairs Office.
Furtado recalled on the professionals for responsibilities with regard to the national security issues.
As for the restructuring of the body, Francisco Furtado recommended the completion of the legal framework, that include the statutes of dependent and supervised bodies and the organic frameworks.
He also spoke of the need to complete the integration of staff in the integral system for the financial management of the State, creation of a database for budgetary and asset management as well as other priority tasks.
Took office the Secretary for National Defence Affairs, Veterans of the Homeland and Armed Forces of the Military Affairs Office to the President of the Republic, Lt Gen Américo Valente; the Director of Telecommunications and Computer, Lt Gen Filipe Figueiredo and the head of the Electronic Management, Lt Gen Rogério Saraiva Ferreira.
The list includes Secretary General of Military Affairs Office, brigadier Agostinho Queirós Pedro; the secretary for Intelligence and Security Affairs, brigadier Domingos António Neto; the Director of Logistics and Infrastructure, brigadier José Benedito and the Executive Secretary and Presidential Security Coordination, brigadier Mário Jorge da Silva Neto.
Brigadier Pascoal Folo was appointed to the position of director for Health Office and rear admiral Carlos Artadino José dos Santos holds the post of director of Personnel and Staff.
In May 2021, the Angolan Head of State João Lourenço sacked
nine military members of the extinct Security Affairs Office “ Casa da Segurança” to the President of the Republic, for alleged involvement in embezzlement of public funds.
