Luanda - The governor of the province of Moxico Leste, Crispiniano dos Santos, said Friday that he will work closely with the National Assembly to develop legislative initiatives to improve the socio-economic conditions of the region's population.
Speaking to the press after a courtesy meeting with the President of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, Santos said that the meeting was to say goodbye to the legislator after being appointed governor.
The governor reaffirmed the institutional cooperation between the provincial government of Moxico Leste and the Parliament, stressing that the challenges will be greater from the parliamentary point of view in the region he now leads, in order to solve the problems of the population.
Asked about the priorities for the province, he said that he would focus his responsibility on the natural conditions of the territory, its geographical and cultural location, as well as the main concerns of the inhabitants.
According to the governor, this province will require more attention, as a lot of work will be needed to create road, health and housing infrastructures, as well as investments in the education and health sectors.
The Governor added that tourism and agriculture are part of the actions, as fundamental elements to stimulate the economy, creating jobs and business opportunities for the population of the region.
Crispiniano dos Santos was recently appointed by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, as Governor of the Province of Moxico Leste, as part of the new Political Administrative Division. LDN/SC/DAN/AMP
