Uíge - The commander of the Northern Military Region David Cavanda Friday urged the military to focus on prevention and safety of the population, to avoid actions that threaten the peace and freedom of citizens.
David Cavanda made this statement while speaking at the opening of the Education and Electoral Patriotic activity to be held in June-September this year, under the motto “"Army guarantees national stability.
He explained that ensuring the electoral process, along with the mission of defending the homeland, is an unquestionable priority.
He recalled that the activity aims to raise the levels of discipline, patriotic conscience, loyalty and civics.
The objective is to guaranteeing the constitutional normality of the Democratic State and Rule of Law, ahead of the general elections on 24 August.
As a result, he said that the FAA are called to fulfill their role, in collaboration with other defence, security and internal order forces, to guarantee the normal functioning of institutions and territorial integrity.
