Luanda - Angola National Air Force commander (FAN), Virgínio da Cunha Pinto, and his Nigerian counterpart, HB Abubakar met Thursday in Abuja to discuss ways to strengthen technical cooperation and participation in African peace missions and natural disasters, a press release has said.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 3rd African Air Force Forum, on the 60th anniversary of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), which celebrates aerospace innovations and regional security at the Abuja International Convention Centre.
On the occasion, the interlocutors discussed the commitment to share the vast experience, knowledge and resources of the two countries in African Union (AU) peace missions and in support of natural disasters.
The partnership between the two institutions reflects the updating of the Memorandum to Strengthen Cooperation between the two countries in the fields of defense and security.
The 3rd African Air Force Forum is also a superb opportunity for commanders to interact with manufacturers of aircraft, helicopters, drones and suppliers of state-of-the-art equipment and air defense, communications, navigation, training and simulation systems.
Angola's participation made it possible to explore strategic partnerships and innovative solutions for the future of the aerospace industry and experience in African security.
On Saturday, General Virgínio da Cunha Pinto will attend a military aviation festival at Kaduna Air Base, which marks the highlight of the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the Nigerian Air Force. VIC/AMP
