Dundo - The first provincial secretary of the MPLA in Lunda-Norte, Filomena Miza, said on Friday that the Lobito Corridor represents the starting point for increasing the food and nutritional security of Angolans and accelerating the diversification of the national economy.
Speaking at the mass event that marked the anticipated celebrations of the 68th anniversary of the MPLA, to be marked on the 10th of this month, Filomena Miza stressed that the project will boost the productive sector, attracting investors to agribusiness.
She stressed that the corridor will be a 'great' promoter of employability in the country, taking into account its size and the number of businesses to be created.
According to the official, the project will stimulate family farming, because it will provide conditions for the rapid flow of products.
The Lobito Corridor is a strategic route for boosting the potential of economic diversification in the Republic of Angola. The Benguela railway line runs 1,344 kilometres from the port of Lobito to Luau, Moxico province,
Internationally known as the route of the 2 oceans, as it connects the Atlantic and the Indian Ocean by land, being the main alternative for the export markets of countries such as Zambia and the DRC.
On the other hand, she stressed that the MPLA is an organization that is constantly renewing itself, always prioritizing the consolidation of national cohesion and unity and the implementation of public policies aimed at satisfying the needs of the Angolan people.
Therefore, she continued, one of the party's great challenges is to build and consolidate a true market economy, in order to influence the private business sector in the production of goods and services and the creation of jobs for youth.
Another major challenge, she said, is to reduce social inequalities, promote gender equality and constantly improve the quality of life of populations.
To greet the 68th anniversary of the MPLA, the provincial committee of Lunda-Norte has scheduled several lectures, political, recreational and sports activities. HD/DOJ
