Luanda - Angola's ambassador to the Swiss Confederation, Filomena Delgado, defended on Monday, in Bern, the need for the country to adopt strategies to attract Swiss investments.
The Angolan diplomat's position was clear in the meeting she held with the speaker of the Swiss Parliament (National Council), Eric Nussbaumer, within the framework of strengthening institutional cooperation with local authorities.
Ambassador Filomena Delgado shared with her interlocutor crucial information about the country's current political and socioeconomic framework, presenting the potential of the Angolan market and calling for Swiss direct investment in Angola.
The occasion also served to address issues linked to cooperation between the two countries in different sectors and in the parliamentary domain, according to a press release from the Angolan diplomatic representation in the Swiss Confederation to which ANGOP had Access to.
The Angolan diplomat informed the Swiss Parliament speaker about the fundamental details of her mandate and expressed her satisfaction with the participation of the Swiss parliamentary delegation in the 147th General Assembly of the IPU (Inter-Parliamentary Union), which took place last year, in Luanda.
Filomena Delgado conveyed, on the other hand, the thanks of the Angolan National Assembly Speaker, Carolina Cerqueira, for the invitation given to her by her Swiss counterpart, to participate in the 149th General Assembly IPU to be held from the 13th to the 17th of October this year, in Geneva, as well as at the meeting of the heads of parliaments taking place at the same time and in the same city.
In turn, the Swiss Parliament Speaker, Eric Nussbaumer, thanked the Angolan diplomatic representative for the data provided and promised to continue working to strengthen ties between the two Nations, mainly on the parliamentary field.
