Luanda - The General Chief of Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) Altino José dos Santos, on Friday said in 2024 the FAA will be focused on human training, infrastructure, weapons and technology.
Speaking at the Year-end greetings ceremony, the highly ranking officer said the three axes will be the focus of the Armed Forces for the next year and that it is imperative to create strong wills to overcome the difficulties of everyday life.
"All of this requires more firmness, persistence and determination from all of our personnel in order to achieve the objectives set," the Chief of Staff said.
The Chief of Staff said the Armed Forces faced several challenges in 2023, where considerable efforts have been made in various areas, with emphasis on maintaining the combat readiness of the troops and the construction of hospitals to provide them greater dignity.
Altino dos Santos highlighted the restructuring and modernization of the Armed Forces, training of officers and non-commissioned officers, and closer relations of friendship and cooperation with the armed forces of friendly countries.
"This inaugural year for me has been marked by an adaptation which, I recognize, has proved more arduous than anticipated. However, it is in the moments of greatest challenge that the true essence of our mission is revealed," Santos said.
The ceremony was attended by the commanders of the three branches of the Armed Forces, general officers, admirals, senior officers, captains, non-commissioned officers, sergeants, officers and civil servants. DC/MCN/DAN/AMP
