Cacuaco - The chief of the General Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), aviation general Altino dos Santos, highlighted on Friday, in Luanda, the importance of paying greater attention to improving the barracks infrastructure for personnel of the Peace Support Unit.
The general officer who was speaking at the opening of the Year of Operational, Combative, Educational-Patriotic Preparation Instruction of the FAA 2024-2025, at the Command of the 101st Tank Brigade, in Luanda, added that this implies provide it with essential resources to maintain permanent operational availability.
He stressed that, despite the constraints resulting from economic circumstances, the guidelines of the President of the Republic and Commander in Chief will be complied with special attention to enhancing and modernizing the military sector with weapons, technology and infrastructures capable of giving greater dignity to servicemen in terms of their specific mission and social needs.
Another bet, he said, should be dedicated to the basic military preparation of soldiers in instruction centers, as well as to sergeants and officer training within the framework of the rejuvenation process underway in the military institution, highlighting that in the process of the trinomial “man, technique and infrastructure” will continue to be the main focus, redoubling efforts to train professionally competent soldiers committed to the country.
He highlighted that he expects from commanders, chiefs and officers, in this Year of Instruction, total engagement in the preparation and carrying out of classes and training, exercises and maneuvers, improving the methods of planning and executing programs.
At the level of the teaching function, he said that it will be necessary to design action programs that improve recycling and training courses for the teaching staff of Military Education establishments and Instruction Centers, bearing in mind that the best professional technical qualification will result in the preparation of excellent officers, sergeants and soldiers.
Likewise, during this period, the FAA will continue to work on increasing and consolidating the combative cohesion of its personnel, providing them with theoretical and practical knowledge that will enable them to act in an efficient and coordinated manner in carrying out future missions, without losing sight of the improvement of their quartering conditions.
Still during the ceremony to present the forces and means, the FAA general advised that it was necessary for the commands of large and small units to ensure the state of weapons, ammunition, combat and transport techniques with adequate records, storage, maintenance, conservation and control.
Considering the importance of permanently preserving social peace, he reinforced that the control of weapons and ammunition must be placed in the first instance with efficient means verification models, under penalty of being left to the criminals.
He considers it essential to have a high awareness of the dimension that defense and national security problems represent.
Along the same path, in this month in which the “March Woman” days are celebrated, the general highlighted the importance of military women, in which they attribute equal value to the merit of their performance in military units and that they continue to set an example of values needed.
The aforementioned ceremony was attended by general officers, superiors, subordinates and guests.
