Luanda - The Chief of the Deputy General Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces for the Operational and Development Area, Artur Santos Vinama, today called on the personnel to have greater respect and commitment to national symbols, the country's authorities and public and military assets as well.
Among the national symbols, the National Flag, the Insignia of the Republic and some particular elements of Angolan fauna, flora and culture stand out, such as the Palanca Negra (Black Giant Antilope) the Welwistchia Miráblis plant and the figure of the Thinker, among others, including the military uniform.
When speaking at the opening of the XXIII Army's assessment meeting, which takes place under the motto “Balancing Army for the Challenges of the Future”, the officer also asked that work continue to maintain organizational levels, strengthening capacity troop resilience
Likewise, Artur Santos Vinama advocated an insistent effort to mobilize more resources to enhance agricultural areas to mitigate the effects of the financial crisis that the country is still experiencing, as per guidance from the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.
“We must also continue to work on maintaining organizational levels, reinforcing the resilience capacity of the troops and their commitment to the country, respect for national symbols, the country's authorities and public and military assets”, he said.
He added that the Army must continue to invest seriously in the multilateral preparation of personnel, providing them with the essential tools that allow them to act with professionalism in the 'real field' ”.
He explained that, however, for this purpose, it is necessary to recognize the important role played by sergeants, heads of sections and endowments. And, equally, the role and place of platoon commanders, considering them to be the true protagonists of the success of missions.
According to Artur Santos Vinama, the General Staff is seriously committed to implementing the guidelines of the Commander in Chief, João Lourenço, aimed at making the FAA a more modern institution with deterrence capacity throughout the national space.
On the occasion, in his welcome message, General João Serafim Kiteculo, said that the event taking place is quite important, as it allows commanders and heads of units, establishments and bodies of the land component of the Angolan Armed Forces to theoretically and practice balancing compliance with plans and programs for the year 2023/2024.
'This Army review meeting also constitutes an opportunity to redirect strategies, procedures and choices of the best options in decision-making to put into perspective the main themes of the institution's functional improvement', he highlighted. ECC/MDS/DOJ
