Luanda - The General Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (EMG/FAA) expressed Sunday its dismay at the death of General Jorge Manuel dos Santos “Sukissa”, commander of the Angolan Navy (MGA), victim of illness, in Luanda.
In a note of condolence that ANGOP had access to, the EMG/FAA stresses that general Sukissa was admitted on Saturday in Clínica Sagrada Esperança following a malaise and was promptly assisted by the medical staff of that health unit, where he died on Sunday.
“In facing of this most unfortunate event, in this moment of mourning and grief, the General Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces presents its most heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the Angolan Navy”, reads the note.
General Sukissa graduated from the Huambo Military Officers School and at the Battlefield Strategy High School at China National Defence Academy.
He attended the Higher Military Directorate and Staff course at the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Federation, where he got a degree on Political Science.
In Angola, the general attended several other courses such as Leadership, Army Command, Strategy and Operative Art and Army Command, he could speak Portuguese, Spanish, French, and Russian.
The general held the positions of Commander of the Operational Command (COP) of Lunda Norte and Lunda Sul provinces, Commander of the 1st Region of the Angolan Border Guard Troops (TGFA) and delegate and commander of the National Police in the Province of Huambo.
