Luanda - Angola's new ambassador to Colombia, Florêncio de Almeida, accredited Thursday in Bogota, will continue the work of defining a legal framework to boost bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
With permanent residence in the Federal Republic of Brazil, Florêncio de Almeida was accredited, as non-resident ambassador to Colombia, by president Iván Duque Márquez.
An Angolan diplomatic source in Brasilia told Angop today that the negotiations of legal instruments of cooperation involve a memorandum on political consultations and an agreement to suppress visas on diplomatic and service passports.
An agreement on technical cooperation is also part of the negotiations, which "will contribute to deepening and diversifying cooperation relations between Angola and Colombia, which are still considered incipient or almost non-existent," the source said.
Foreign Affairs in Colombia, a country with which Angola established diplomatic relations, in 1988, are headed by the president, as Head of State, and managed by a minister.
