Luanda - Bilateral cooperation between Angola and São Tomé and Príncipe topped Monday's meeting between the heads of State of Angola João Lourenço and São Tomé and Principe, Carlos Vila Nova.
This is the second meeting between the two presidents this year in Luanda. Last May, both president met in the Angolan capital, Luanda, as part of a State visit by Carlos Vila Nova.
Carlos Vila Nova has been in Luanda since Saturday (27) to attend the Funeral of the former Angolan president, José Eduardo dos Santos, on Sunday.
Angola and São Tomé and Príncipe formalised the cooperation in 1978, through the General Agreement on Friendship and Cooperation.
Still, this Monday, João Lourenço granted an audience to the vice president of the Council of Ministers of Cuba, Ricardo Cabrisas.
Speaking to the press at the end of the meeting, Ricardo Cabrisas said that the occasion served to review the general issues of cooperation in several sectors.
The Cuban leader said that the meeting also discussed the next edition of the Angola and Cuba intergovernmental commission.
Ricardo Cabrisas, who also witnessed the funeral of José Eduardo dos Santos, having expressed his country's availability to work on increasingly improve existing ties, based on reciprocal advantages.
Cuba has been a strategic partner of Angola since the country's independence in 1975.
The cooperation focuses on the health, education, agriculture, defence and security sectors.
