Luanda – UNITA said Thursday in Luanda that it is determined and committed to doing everything for the transparency and fairness of the electoral process.
The commitment was reiterated by the party’s national Secretary for Electoral Affairs Faustino Mumbica.
The official, who was speaking at a press conference to assess the path taken so far in the electoral process, called on Angolans to actively engage in the general elections, vote en masse and remain vigilant. and ordered.
He underlined some difficulties and concerns that he said were registered by his political party during the registration of delegates at the national level and at other stages of the process.
The politician, who pointed to logistics and other constraints, considered insuficient the initial seven-day deadline set by the National Electoral Commission (CNE) to register everyone in all localities and communes.
Faustino Mumbica reiterated the position of his party, according to which there are irregularities in the work done by the CNE, given the non-publication of electoral lists and the lack of audit of the file of adult citizens.
He stressed that, despite this, UNITA will continue to fight for the fairness of the process, counting on the support and participation of citizens.
Official CNE data indicates that UNITA has registered 51,000 delegates across the country.
