Luanda - With ten days to go before the elections, Angola's political forces took the opportunity on Sunday to step up their campaigning with mass events and door-to-door contacts in various parts of the country.
PHA
The Humanist Party of Angola (PHA) held a march across the streets of the city of Sumbe, Cuanza Sul Province, which ended with a mass political act.
The representative of PHA in Cuanza Sul, Pedro Rufino, said that his organization will invest in the construction of social and economic infrastructures, if it wins the elections.
P-NJANGO
The President of the Nationalist Party for Justice in Angola (P-NJANGO), Eduardo Chingunji, has set social justice, patriotism and responsibility as priorities, in case of victory on 24 August.
During the party´s ten minutes of airtime on Angola National Radio station, Eduardo Chingunji said that his mission would be to fight for social justice for all Angolans, regardless of their political affiliation, ethnicity, family, religion or social class.
FNLA
The historical leader of the FNLA, Ngola Kabango, called on voters and the population in general to refrain from intolerant or violent acts during or after the elections on 24 August.
According to Ngola Kabango, who was speaking to ANGOP on the sidelines of a mass political act that brought together militants, friends and supporters of the National Front for the Liberation of Angola (FNLA), the elections should be a party and voting citizens should refrain from accepting “incendiary” speeches from politicians.
PRS
The PRS secretary in Huambo, António Soliya Selende, said in case of winning the ballot, his party plans to create more technical-vocational training centres.
The politician, who was speaking during an electoral campaign rally in the Municipality of Caála, said that the PRS designed a governance programme, for 2022-2027, focused on integrated development, through the training of staff for the labour market and the creation of self-employment.
CASA-CE
The empowerment of Angolan women, based on the construction of a fairer and more equal society, is one of the bets of the Broad Convergence for the Salvation of Angola - Electoral Coalition (CASA-CE) presented this Sunday on the party´s ten minutes of airtime on Public Television (TPA).
According to the candidate for President of the Republic for CASA-CE, Manuel Fernandes, the investment in this section of society aims at making it increasingly free of discrimination and ill-treatment to which many of them are subjected, with emphasis on "zungueiras" (female hawkers).
UNITA
The candidate for President of the Republic for UNITA, Adalberto Costa Júnior, said in Luena municipality of Moxico Province, that Angolans should avoid the errors of the past and work for the promotion of peace and stability.
Speaking at a rally, as part of his party's electoral campaign, the politician appealed to the need for Angolans to work together to build a new and inclusive country.
MPLA
The MPLA candidate for President of the Republic, João Lourenço, who led a mass rally in Namibe Province, said that it is under plan the construction of the Baynes hydroelectric power plant in partnership with neighbouring Republic of Namibia.
João Lourenço emphasized that the construction of the Baynes dam in Cunene, to serve neighbouring Namibe as well, should be facilitated with the construction of the Moçamedes/Baynes road.
ACCIDENT
A National Air Force (FAN) helicopter carrying National Electoral Commission (CNE) material crashed this Sunday in Lóvua commune, Alto Zambeze municipality, Moxico Pprovince, causing no casualties.
The president of the Municipal Electoral Commission (CME), José Augusto, told ANGOP that the equipment was carrying electoral material to the commune of Lóvua, which is 79 kilometres from Cazombo, capital of Alto Zambeze Municipality.
CLARIFICATION
The Namibe Provincial Electoral Commission (CPE) denied this Sunday, in Moçâmedes City, information spread on social media about early voting.
This denial comes as a result of a video and audios circulating on social media with images of people with indelible ink on their fingers and an individual claiming to be carrying out early voting in the locality of Caraculo, Namibe Province.
