Elections 2022: Second summary of the seventh day of campaign

Luanda - The seventh day of the electoral campaign across the country was marked by direct contacts with voters, especially in the capital, Luanda, where the marches dominated the actions of most of the competing forces.

The leaders of the eight political parties explained to voters the reasons why they should vote for their respective parties.

PHA

The Humanist Party of Angola (PHA), which met Friday in Cuando Cubango, held a morning march through the streets of the city of Menongue, where it presented its arguments to local citizens for being elected.

The leader of this organisation, Florbela Malaquias, addressed, in a mass rally, the population of this region to whom she presented the PHA proposals, which is based on humanism, assistance to children and youth.

P-NJANGO

The main action of this political party, the Nationalist Party for Justice in Angola (P-NJANGO), aimed at carrying out a march through the streets of the capital city.

In its governance programme, it presented, among other aspects, defending the implementation of a disintegrated national health system, with four regional zones.

UNITA

UNITA, whose leader made tours in the last few days through some inland provinces, returned to the capital, where, in the municipality of Cazenga, he marched with militants, friends and sympathizers.

In this emblematic region of the Angolan capital, the UNITA leader explained his party's arguments.

FNLA

The FNLA, on Saturday morning, held a march through some streets of the city of Caxito, province of Bengo, which was followed by a mass event.

In its airtime, on National Radio of Angola (RNA), social policy was at the center of the approaches, where the party highlighted the need for a policy that guarantees equal treatment and opportunities.

Likewise, the party leader highlighted the central role of the family and youth, as pillars of a solid society.

CASA-CE

The Broad Convergence for the Salvation of Angola - Electoral Coalition (CASA-CE) held two mass events, the first in Uíge and the other in Luanda, to allow the electorate to know better the party's positions in terms of its vision on the destinations for Angola, if it wins the elections on 24 August.

Also in the country's capital, CASA-CE proposed, during the event, the creation of a dialogue pact with the political parties competing for the August 24 general elections, so that the electoral campaign takes place in a climate of peace and harmony.

APN

The National Patriotic Alliance (APN), which is carrying out its campaign in the city of Mbanza Kongo, province of Zaire, held a mass event, where it highlighted the commitment to education, with education being free from initiation to higher education.

Action to fight poverty and increase the number of jobs, as well as the increase in agricultural production, are other goals containing in the programme of this organization.

PRS

The Social Renewal Party (PRS), which is busy carrying out its actions in the country’s  eastern region, defended, in its airtime, the importance of preserving Angolan culture, as one of the country's main assets.

This political party also highlighted the importance of valuing the family.

MPLA      

In the city of Cuito, province of Bié, the MPLA candidate for President of the Republic, João Lourenço, guaranteed Saturday the rehabilitation of the road between the municipalities of Andulo and Mussende, which connects the provinces of Bié and Cuanza Sul, as well as as well as other development projects for the region.

In a mass rally held in Cuito, he highlighted the existence of a project to electrify the municipalities of the province of Bié, to bring electricity to the citizens, as well as the conclusion, soon, of the works on the Camacupa Hydroelectric Dam.

This political organisation also carried out, in the capital of the country, a march on the Marginal of Luanda, led by its first secretary, which integrated thousands of militants.
