Mbanza Kongo - Six election observers from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) arrived Sunday in the northern Angolan province of Zaire to monitor next Wednesday (24)'s general elections.
The SADC mission includes observers from South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe.
Monday (22), the group of observers of the SADC mission held a meeting with the chairman of the Provincial Electoral Commission in Zaire (CPE), Pedro Dundo.
Paula Alberthine Kooper, from Namibia and spokesperson of the mission, told the press that the meeting served to find out some points related to the electoral process.
She added that the members will deploy to all municipalities and communes of the Zaire province, which has six municipalities, 25 communes and 711 villages.
According to data from the Provincial Electoral Commission (CPE) in Zaire, the province will have seven international and 38 national election observers.
