Luanda – At least 1, 214 Angolans are registered in Zambia, ahead of the 2022 elections scheduled for August 24 in Angola.
Among these voters, 103 live in Lusaka (capital), 411 in Mongu and 700 in Solwezi, who will exercise their citizenship rights in 3 polling stations.
Angolans are voting this year, for the fifth time, to elect the President of the Republic, the Vice President and the 220 MPs to the National Assembly.
The first four elections were held in 1992, 2008, 2012 and 2017.
Elections in Angola are held every five years. The previous elections, held on August 23, 2017, were won by the MPLA.
The political parties MPLA, UNITA, PRS, FNLA, APN, PHA, P-NJANGO and the CASA-CE coalition are competing for this year's elections.
