Benguela - MPLA proposes, for the next mandate, to build new buildings for the Katyavala Buila University and the Higher Institute of Educational Sciences (CITE), both in Benguela province.
The MPLA candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, João Lourenço, announced this on Thursday at a mass gathering in Benguela, as part of the campaign for the August 24 elections.
He also announced that three new DNU type trains, modern and faster, with a capacity of 700 passengers, will enter service next month, between Benguela and Lobito.
João Lourenço noted that the process of certification of Catumbela airport was underway, and that it will become Paulo Teixeira Jorge International Airport.
The MPLA leader highlighted the process of privatisation of the management of the port of Lobito and the Benguela railways, the latter will have a branch that will link the Angolan province of Moxico to the neighbouring Republic of Zambia.
After Luanda and Huíla, Benguela is the third largest electoral stronghold with 1.2 million voters, or 8.4%.
Seven parties (APN, FNLA, MPLA, UNITA, PHA, P-NJANGO and PRS) and the coalition (CASA-CE) compete for 24 August elections.
