Lubango - The president of the FNLA and its head of list for the August 24 general elections, Nimi a Simbi, said that he will restructure the organs of public security in the country, with emphasis on the National Police, if his party wins the elections.
The politician, who was speaking at a mass rally, which took place at the Mutundo informal market, said his party will implement a "different policy" in the corporation, without killing, or attacking the citizen, in order to stabilize the security of Angolans.
"The population cannot attack the police either. If they are saying that the oficers are thieves, it is because they earn badly. The FNLA government will try to give them a better salary to live on and not attack the people", the politician said.
The FNLA leader reaffirmed that agriculture, education, health and public safety are the main axes that the party defends in its governance programme to "stabilize" and improve the living of the Angolan population.
At least eight political forces are running for election, namely: MPLA, UNITA, PRS, FNLA, APN, PHA and P-NJANGO parties and the CASA-CE coalition.
Roughly 14.3 voters are expected to cast ballots on August 24 with 22,560 from abroad to choose the President of the Republic, the Vice President and the 220 deputies that constitute the National Assembly.
