Saurimo - Sixty members of the National Police completed their course on electoral crimes in eastern Lunda Sul province on Tuesday, ahead of the general elections scheduled for 24 August.
The training provided techniques on how to deal with property damage, terms of preventive detention, compliance with the diligence, remittance of the case to court and migratory crimes.
The coordinator of the eastern judicial region of the PGR, Astrogildo Calulo, praised the training action saying that the training provided tools that will help the staff to act with greater responsibility and professionalism.
The high ranking police officer recalled that it is the role of the police "to dialogue pedagogically with the citizen, instilling moral lessons and discouraging him/her from carrying out actions such as the removal of flags and public goods damage."
At the end of the seminar, sponsored by Attorney General’s Office (PGR), the provincial delegate of the Ministry of the Interior in Lunda Sul, Mário Luís, recalled that the executive bodies of MININT will act within "democratic principles and without arbitrary arrests".
