Cazombo - The Municipal Electoral Commission (CME) of Alto Zambeze, eastern Moxico province, announced that efforts are in progress for the “timely” replacement of the damaged electoral material as result of the accident of a MI-171SH helicopter belonging to the National Air Force (FAN).
The assurance came from the president of the Municipal Electoral Commission (CME) of Alto Zambeze, José Augusto, who said that the fact has already been reported to the central structures and they are awating the replacement.
He added that at least two helicopters will be needed to distribute the material in those areas.
The helicopter was transporting electoral material when it came down, having caused four injuries, out of 15, who have already been discharged from hospital.
A source linked to the National Air Force (FAN) told ANGOP that it was premature to determine, precisely, the causes of the crash of the MI-171SH helicopter, in Lóvua commune, 79 kilometers from Cazombo, capital of Alto Zambeze municipality.
More than 416,000 voters are expected to vote in Moxico province.
