Luanda - A five-day training course for the trainers of members of the Polling Stations started Monday as part of the action of the election process running until 24th of August, the National Election Commission (CNE) said Monday
Polling station members are tasked with organising, directing and coordinating the work ranging from opening, voting to the counting, the CNE spokesperson Lucas Quilundo said in Luanda,
Addressing an opening ceremony of the Training Course for National Trainers of Polling Station Board Members for the 2022 General Elections, the official asked the trainees to dedicate themselves to learn as much knowledge as possible so that they can convey it to other levels, namely provincial and municipal.
The action is being run by technicians from the CNE's Directorate for Electoral Training and Civic Education.
Some 80 staff from the institution participate in the course, including heads of the training, civic and electoral education department of the Provincial Electoral Commissions and national trainers.
For the general elections, set for 24 August, 13,238 polling stations will be available, comprising 26,488 polling stations, in country and abroad.
Data point to 13.3 million citizens in Angola and 22,560 residing abroad as being expected to participate in the elections.
