Luanda - National Electoral Commission (CNE) said on Tuesday that the release of the lists of the voters, by their local bodies, will be done on website.
The information was released by the CNE spokesman, Lucas Quilundo, when speaking to Public Television (TPA)’ news channel on Tuesday.
The law stipulates that the release should occur in terms determined by the entity in charge of organising the elections.
He clarified that under the election law it is up to the polling station to publish the lists of voters.
The law states that the lists are released but it does not clearly refers to fixing it on, “which is another way to publish them”.
He added that under the law, the electoral rolls are not fixed on, as they will not be available until on the voting day.
As for the voters who cannot access to the internet, the National Election Commission (CNE) has set up several sites in the communities where it deployed is staff with “tablets” to indicate the locality the voters will cast their ballot.
He said the citizens can also seek information through SMS by sending their ID or voter card number to 40114.
Angola will hold its fifth election, the first of the kind that will allow the citizens residing abroad to exercise their right to vote.
Roughly 14.3 million voters are expected to participate in the process, including 22,560 residing overseas.
