Dundo - MPLA leader João Lourenço is expected to address a mass rally in eastern Lunda Norte province on Wednesday as part of his political organisation electoral campaign.
João Lourenço arrived Tuesday afternoon in the region accompanied by his wife, Ana Dias Lourenço.
At Camaquenzo airport, the politician was welcomed by MPLA's first provincial secretary of Lunda Norte, Ernesto Muangala, members of the Politburo Bureau and hundreds of supporters.
This is the second time João Lourenço is visiting Lunda Norte province, in his capacity as MPLA´s leader.
In the 2017 elections, the MPLA obtained 141,663 votes, corresponding to 66.66 percent.
This enabled the party to gain four MPs, out of the five possible for the Lunda Norte constituency.
Seven parties and a coalition will run for 24 August election.
In Lunda Norte more than 200,000 voters have been registered to exercise their right to vote in 704 polling stations.
Roughly 14.3 million voters are expected to cast their ballots in the upcoming elections.
