Luanda – The Angolan, diplomat Teodolinda Rodrigues Coelho, this week in Tokyo presented her Letters of Credence to Emperor Naruhito as Angola's new ambassador to Japan.
At the accreditation ceremony, which took place at the Imperial Palace, Emperor Naruhito addressed words of welcome and congratulations to Teodolinda Rodrigues Coelho and expressed his desire to increasingly strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
Ambassador Teodolinda Rodrigues Coelho reaffirmed her willingness to work towards strengthening political-diplomatic relations and economic-business co-operation, with a view to creating a strategic partnership between the two countries, focused on the areas of trade and industry, technological development, renewable energies, tourism, fisheries and the blue economy.
"The aim is also to seek agreements that will enable staff training and intensify cultural cooperation," she said.
Born in Luanda, Teodolinda Rodrigues Coelho holds a Law degree from the Agostinho Neto University (UAN) and has worked as head of the Europe and America directorates of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX), as well as ambassador and permanent representative of Angola in Austria and at the United Nations Offices and other International Organisations in Vienna.
