Luanda - The joint opinion report of the National Security Law (LSN) of the President João Lourenço initiative, as Holder of the Executive Power, was approved Friday, in the specialty, expecting final approval in the coming week.
The legal tool approved by the deputies of the Defense, Security, Internal Order, and Veterans of the Nation and Constitutional and Legal Affairs committees, establishes the organization and functioning of the national security system, in line with Angola’s Constitution.
It is applicable to the entire territory the Angolan State exercises its sovereignty and jurisdiction, as well as to the sectors, institutions, bodies and services that make up the national security system, as well as to citizens in general.
The National security law aims to guarantee, on a permanent basis, national independence and sovereignty, defense, territorial integrity, the democratic rule of law, the security of populations, their assets and the protection of national heritage, maintenance of peace and order under conditions that correspond to the objectives and national interest.
Biosafety, environmental protection, the promotion of sustainable economic and social development, peace, security and international stability are also among its objectives.
Addressing the National Assembly, the Minister of National Defense and Veterans of the Motherland, João Ernesto dos Santos, valued the joint work carried out in the specialty, highlighting that it represents an extremely important legal tool.
