Luanda - A multi-sectoral Angolan delegation will travel Sunday to Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), for a working visit.
In that city, the delegation will take part in the official ceremony to introduce the new Commander of the Joint Extended Verification Mechanism (MCVA) of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR), Colonel José Rui de Lourdes Miranda.
According to a note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Angolan delegation will be headed by the Chief of General Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), General António Egídio de Sousa Santos.
It will also include other military officers and state officials, as well as the Coordinator of the National Mechanism of ICGLR and Director of the Africa, Middle East and Regional Organisations Directorate of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Miguel César Domingos Bembe.
The Angolan Ambassadors to Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sandro de Oliveira and Miguel Costa, respectively, are also on the event's attendance list.
The presentation of the new Commander and his Angolan assistants, in Goma, is due to take place on 27 of this month.
Created on 14 September 2012, on an initiative by the Heads of State and Government of the ICGLR for the restoration of mutual trust between the States, the MCVA aims essentially to verify the allegations between the Member States of the ICFTU and conduct patrols along the common borders.
