Luanda - The Consul General of Angola in Guangzhou (China), Judith Costa, has appealed to the region's business community to invest in Angola and take advantage of the market's potential.
The diplomat made the appeal at the opening of the meeting on business and investment opportunities that took place under the motto “On route to Angola: Economy, Commerce and Culture”.
According to the diplomat, the economic reforms carried out in Angola aim, above all, to create an excellent business environment increasingly attractive to allow and attract more foreign investments.
Judith Costa stated that all the Chinese businesspeople present at the event, in a considerable number, have a huge opportunity to invest in Angola, helping the country to increase its growth levels.
Mara Quiosa, governor of Cabinda, who attended the event, highlighted the importance of searching for alternatives for the diversification of the region's economy, having highlighted the strategy to boost industrialization, prioritizing agro-industry.
The governor invited Chinese businesspeople to invest in Cabinda, highlighting that the priority currently falls on agro-industry, having indicated the opportunities for foreign investment based on the tax incentives that Angolan legislation offers.
On the occasion, the administrator of the Angolan Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX), José Gama Sala, explained in detail how to invest in Angola, showing the paths on the legal basis.
Sala said Angola is a good country to invest in, has security and has made clarifications about the revenue returns' tools, investment profits and legal security.
Around 100 participants were present at the business meeting, with emphasis on members of the Chinese business community, who raised concerns inherent to the investment process, during a busy question and answer session that lasted around an hour and a half.
The event also featured senior Chinese individuals and around two dozen members of the African diplomatic corps accredited in Guangzhou.
