Luanda - The delegates of the 8th Extraordinary Congress of the MPLA have approved a motion of support for the President of the party, João Lourenço, for his selflessness in promoting the unity and cohesion of the party.
The motion takes into account the economic and social achievements led by João Lourenço in his capacity as head of the executive, which promote the well-being of Angolans, as well as his efforts to pacify conflicts on the African continent.
This was expressed in the final conclusions of the congress, read by the Secretary of the Political Bureau for International Relations, Manuel Augusto, during the closing ceremony of the conclave.
The congress analyzed the thesis "The MPLA from Independence to the Present, the Challenges of the Future" and the proposals to adjust the party's statutes.
Held on December 16 and 17 under the motto "MPLA, at the service of the people and for the growth of Angola," the event was attended by 2,794 delegates from the country's 18 provinces and abroad. SC/DAN/AMP
