Uíge - The commander of the Northern Military Region, Lieutenant General António José Neto, reaffirmed Monday in northern Uíge province the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) readiness to defend the sovereignty and integrity of the national territory.
The lieutenant-general made the statement at the opening of the Year of Operational, Combative and Educational-Patriotic Preparation 2024-2025.
According to the commander, the mission must be carried out with organization and discipline, based on capacity and skill in the field of military technique, weaponry and art.
As regards to operative and combative preparation, Antonio Neto said the combative readiness levels of units and subunits will be increased, since it is the determining factor for the military in assimilating the various subjects to be taught during the period of instruction.
According to the high-ranking officer, the military are aware that in the modern world nothing is static and there is the need to adapt to new challenges, with a view to permanently improving the FAA's capabilities.
The Lieutenant asked the military to maintain psychological, moral and physical readiness to respond properly to any internal or external aggression, support the population in case of an accident or natural disaster, among other missions.
He urged the military to redouble the security and surveillance system to continue holding education and patriotic exaltation days, paying greater attention to the organization, maintenance, conservation, technical control and control of weapons, assets and all the goods placed at the FAA's disposal.
