Angola’s Army Commander highlights importance of military training

Huambo - The commander of the Army, General João Serafim Kiteculo, considered, this Friday, in Huambo, 'essential' the training for the officer of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) in raising professional qualification and social credibility.

The general, who was speaking at the end of the 2nd course of Promotion to Senior Officer and the 1st of Promotion to the Rank of Captain, said that military education allows for greater affirmation and credibility before respectable society, inside and outside the country.

He added that the training also contributes to raising the reputation of the FAA and of the country.

The Army commander recalled that the promotion of courses in military establishments is the imperative of the life and activity of the Angolan Armed Forces and the Army, in particular.

He said that this component is part of the enormous mission of a constant rejuvenation of the Army, aiming at the requalification of cadres with high knowledge of military science and art, according to the realities of the world and the country, in particular.

General João Serafim Kiteculo believes that during the courses, subjects of military interest have been taught that will certainly contribute to the missions and tasks that will be incumbent on the finalists, within the scope of military duty, inside or outside the unit, establishment and bodies of the Army.

He pointed out that the finalists now have the necessary tools to apply in practice what they learned during the training period.

'Once the training is over, they should continuously review these tools and seek, every day, more knowledge to consolidate the learning, because in this way, it will allow you to be true commanders or professional component chiefs and capable of training the men at your disposal or commanding and leading a force units, establishments or bodies at different levels', he concluded.

In this way, he concluded, they should respond to the demands of the Army, with a view to reaching the levels of the great armies in the world.

Opened on August 7, 2022, 211 trainees participated in the course, taught by the Higher Institute of the Army, led by Lieutenant General Eugénio Figueiredo, 195 men and 17 women.

The promotion courses to the rank of captain and senior officer of the Army are carried out in compliance with those established in paragraphs a) and b) of paragraph 1 of article 52 of Law 13/2018, of 29 October, Law of military careers of the FAA, constituting a social condition for promotion to the aforementioned posts.

The first promotion course to senior officer was held in 2021, with a total of 240 trainees, also in Huambo, headquarters of the Central Military Region, which covers the provinces of Benguela, Bié, Cuanza Sul. ALH/DOJ
