Luanda - Angolan head of State João Lourenço Monday granted audience to the leader of the National Youth Council (CNJ) Isaías Kalunga to review the steps taken around the youth programme "Cidade Agro-pecuária".
The CNJ leader told the press at the end of the meeting that the audience was an opportunity to present the vision of the Angolan youth at an economic, political and social level.
He highlighted the youth programme "Cidade Agro-pecuária ". This is an initiative to support national production to be implemented in the country's 18 provinces.
The programme is financed by the Agrarian Development Support Fund (FADA) in an amount of around 1.8 billion kwanzas and another 10 billion by the Angolan Investment Bank (BAI).
The referred amount will be earmarked for the construction of houses added to agricultural fields (10 hectares for each young beneficiary).
On behalf of young people, he expressed satisfaction with the most recent measures adopted by the President, including the appointment of a new Minister of State for Economic Coordination to help address the pressing issues afflicting young people, such as more jobs.
The President João Lourenço received other representatives of Non-Governmental Organisations as part of consultations with civil society institutions.
Still in separate audiences, the Head of State received representatives from the National Association of Angolan Students, the Association of Artists and Composers (UNAC), former Angolan students in Cuba, the provincial trade fair and informal trade union ( comprising saleswomen and the Christian Organisation for support Community Development).
In turn, the president of UNAC, Zeca Moreno, said that he had delivered to the President a pack with nine aspects containing proposals and some requests in favour of society and members.
In addition to social and economic aspects, UNAC leader pointed out the need to recover the Bullfighting building, in Luanda, in rundown condition.
The president of the National Association of Angolan Students, Mário Fernandes, said that he addressed with President issues related to general and higher education. NE/AL/ADR/TED/NIC
