Luanda - The Council of Ministers on Wednesday decided to send the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons against Enforced Disappearance to the National Assembly.
According to the press release of the Council Ministers 2nd ordinary session, chaired by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, the legal instrument aims to prevent forced disappearances.
The bill also aims to combat impunity for the crime of forced disappearance, allowing the use of universal jurisdiction to investigate, prosecute and punish offenders.
Also, Wednesday, the Council of Ministers, aiming to promote international labor standards, approved Angola's accession to the conventions relating to Social Security and Safety and Health at Work, aimed at preventing occupational accidents and establishing services assistance for all workers.
In the same session, adherence to the Maritime Labor conventions, the Employment Policy, on Domestic Work and Violence and Harassment at Work were also approved, within the framework of the implementation of international labor standards. JFS/SC/TED/DOJ
