Luanda - The Chief of General Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) Altino dos Santos addressed Thursday the promotion of staff categories, in line with the ongoing process of restructuring and resizing of the sector.
The high ranking officer was addressing an opening ceremony of the XXII Annual Review Meeting of the Army 2022/2023, which takes place under the
motto “Army - watchful for the reinforcement of military discipline and combat readiness”.
Altino dos Santos said that the promotion of categories make the staff more competent at the technical-professional point of view and capable to deal with any challenge.
He underlined that the dynamics of the FAA determined the recent promotion of cadres to assume positions of high responsibility.
He noted that the newly promoted senior staff will face enormous challenges. He clarified that within the budget of the armed forces everything will be done to make them more operational, in addition to improving the life of the military in the barracks.
The meeting took stock of the FAA's main activities, including the Guidelines of the CEMG (Chief of the General Staff) for the 2023/2026 term.
The event also analysed the Organisation and Planning of Operative, Combative and Educational Preparation of the Army for 2023/2024.
The meeting gathered chiefs of the Arms and Services Departments, commanders of Military Regions, consultants from the Army Command,
commanders of the Army Military Academy and the Higher Institute of the Army.
