Luanda – The Head of State, João Lourenço, arrived in Luanda Sunday, coming from Windhoek, Namibia, where he participated in the funeral of President Hage Geingob, who died on February 4, at 82 years of age.
The Angolan statesman, who attended the state funeral of the Namibian President today at Memorial Heroes Acre, received welcome greetings from the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, and other members of the government.
Accompanied by the First Lady, Ana Dias Lourenço, the President of the Republic, who also is the chairperson of SADC, participated in the funeral honoring ceremony on Saturday, at the Independence Stadium, also in the Namibian capital.
On the occasion, when speaking, he said he was convinced that the Namibian people will know how to transform the pain and sadness over the loss into energy to dedicate themselves, with vigor, to building their Nation.
João Lourenço hopes that Namibians will know how to dedicate themselves to building the Nation, strong, resilient and exemplary in terms of stability, security and peace, which President Hage Geingob had in his Nation project.
