Luanda - The Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, on Saturday received in audience the president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Tlophane Motsepe, with whom he discussed the situation of soccer in Angola.
Patrice Tlophane Motsepe told the press, as he left the meeting, that he liked the message of the President of the Republic about Angola's desire to be the next African champion of the CAN.
The CAF president said he had expressed his gratitude to João Lourenço for his support of Angolan and African football, highlighting the importance of continuing this commitment, passion and cooperation.
Patrice Motsepe highlighted Angola's extraordinary performance at the level of the Côte d'Ivoire CAN, which, in his opinion, has produced some of the best football players in Africa and believes in the evolution of the newest footballers.
The head of CAF said that, with joint work and dedication, it will be possible to produce many better players for the development of football in Africa.
On the occasion, he called on the private sector and entrepreneurs to support Angolan football by investing in the sport, and advocated that it should not be expected that governments, by themselves, can do everything, or that the leadership of associations and football federations do everything alone.
Patrice Motsepe thanked the President of the Republic and the Minister of Youth and Sports for their patience, commitment and continued dedication to football.
